I bought this one because of the subtitle Edmund and Rosemary decide to have a party and end up inviting every human being on the planet Of course, only eight people RSVPed The author is a New Yorker cartoonist, so the illustrations are great, and the story is sardonic When Edmund came back downstairs, he noticed the party was thinning out Only eight hundred million people were left The Australians seemed like they were really determined to close the place A lot of people took the I bought this one because of the subtitle Edmund and Rosemary decide to have a party and end up inviting every human being on the planet Of course, only eight people RSVPed The author is a New Yorker cartoonist, so the illustrations are great, and the story is sardonic When Edmund came back downstairs, he noticed the party was thinning out Only eight hundred million people were left The Australians seemed like they were really determined to close the place A lot of people took the wrong coat home, not always accidentally

Edmund and Rosemary but not their cat Dalia feel socially obligated to throw a party, but like the rest of us, are kind of neurotic and hamstrung between inclination and etiquette The results are both a transcendent sense of unity with one s fellow beings and a lot of dirty dishes and anxiety about those tiny quiches This book might make you brave enough to throw that party you ve almost talked yourself out of having.

What would happen if you had a party and invited everyone in the world That s what happens to Rosemary and Edmund in this book. They start drawing up their guest list for a party and realize that the only way to invite everyone they should invite is to invite everyone in the world The fear and anxiety that Bruce Eric Kaplan expresses in this book is exactly why I don t host parties any and barely even attend them.

Quirky little tale about an insecure couple who invites every person on Earth to their holiday party out of fear for leaving someone off the invite list Only takes 10 minutes to read this one in its entirety so give it a try if the premise interests you in the slightest.

Imagine if you gave a party and every person on the planet accepted your invitation to attend That s the premise beyond this short book with lots of pictures It is really funny, and at 117 pages can be read quickly should you need a rapid humor infusion.

A friend of mine likes to bring this for the hosts when she goes to a holiday party, and it s perfect for that I enjoyed the illustrations and the wry humor, but it wasn t laugh out loud funny.
